Thank you to everyone who has donated to this great cause, it means so much to the team. Knowing that we raised such an amazing amount of money which made the gruelling 10-mile run on Saturday worth it.

Daniel McNerney, Managing Director of Bousfields, said:

Unfortunately due to a knee injury I sustained earlier this year, I wasn't able to compete with my colleagues today. I am gutted as it was something I have looked forward to being involved in, not only from a fundraising perspective but also taking on the Tough Mudder challenge side by side with my colleagues and pushing and supporting one another until the finish line."

"So today, I am supporting everyone as a spectator, taking the muddiest photos and videos of the team which they will treasure forever."

"I’m really proud of all of the team's efforts that went into fundraising for the event and raising such a life-changing amount of money for a cause so close to my heart. I’m so grateful to everyone who donated and it means the world to me and my team."

The Tough Mudder, renowned for its challenging and unforgiving course, took place at Belvoir Castle in Grantham, where 23 members of the See Limited and Bousfields team collectively completed the challenge.

One of them was our Commercial Office Manager, Christine Boulter, who said:

“It was an amazing experience for a brilliant cause. To be honest, it was a very tough 3 hours. Challenging weather conditions with the rain and wind made it even harder to complete. But I’m very proud of everyone, as we stuck together, tackled each obstacle and crossed that finish line as a team.

"The worst obstacle for me was a freezing water tank, I had to slide into the water and dive to get out. I felt so cold afterwards that event running couldn't warm me up."

Bringing the fight to cancer

On average, in the UK, someone receives a cancer diagnosis every 90 seconds. Which means in the time taken for you to read this blog post, someone has been diagnosed with cancer. Let's join forces and bolster the crucial efforts and vital research that goes into saving lives and finding cures and treatment for this disease.

But, where does your money go?

£51 could buy special chemicals called restriction enzymes, which act like molecular scissors to cut long strands of DNA. This helps scientists study cancer-causing genes.

£168 could fund a professor and their team for a day of testing innovative radiotherapy techniques for treating rare bile duct cancer.

£248 could fund the research of a doctor and his team for two days, as they explore how to reduce barriers to bowel screening.

We are immensely grateful to everyone who supported us with our fundraising. Every donation no matter how big or small helps towards the life-saving research and crucial support to those living with cancer right now. We can only hope that by uniting in this way, we are doing all we can to ensure that future generations are not burdened with the impacts of cancer.
